The Education Project - no. 17 - was a 2 year undertaking, and is typical inasmuch as Robert used it as a source for a wide range of subjects and also embarked on extensive research into education in the South West, which resulted in a two volume academic work, entitled, Education. The English Teacher was one of Robert's sitters from the Project, however, she is anoymous, inasmuch as Robert could not remember her name. I bought this painting directly from the Studio, where it was displayed for some years, always a sign that Robert liked the painting. The painting is framed and glazed in a "Lenkiewicz" frame.
