Made by a talented Navaho designer this unique Kingman turquoise and silver necklace, pays homage to the life spirit - associated with green, meaning organic growth and moving water. The Navaho did not embellish and wear turquoise because it was a pretty colour, but because green was the colour of plant growth, and in a semi-desert area, this had huge ritual significance. The bead like spacers resemble the Rosaries, worn by Franciscan Friars, that came with the conquering Spanish and so they also have significance. This is a very special piece.
